Overview of CCA
De La Salle School Percussion Ensemble, established in 2021, offers students a dynamic platform to explore percussion music while developing character and teamwork. Members learn to play a variety of instruments such as the xylophone, marimba, timpani, and drums, alongside basic music theory. The CCA emphasizes ensemble playing and sectional training, which fosters discipline, collaboration, and confidence. Values like respect, responsibility, and resilience are also cultivated through regular training and performance. Since 2022, the ensemble has actively participated in the Singapore Youth Festival (SYF), gaining authentic learning experiences. In 2024, their performance of “Again” at the Singapore Conference Hall showcased their growth and passion. Through meaningful school and public performances, percussionists experience the joy of music-making and a strong sense of belonging.
