Brownies is a Girl Guides CCA for girls aged 7 to 12 that builds character, leadership, and life skills through camps, badge work, and community service.
Overview of CCA
Brownies is a vibrant CCA for girls aged 7 to 12 under Girl Guides Singapore (GGS). It aims to build character, leadership, and life skills through meaningful and engaging activities. The programme follows the 5-Point Programme, which includes:
• Personal & Social Development – Fostering health, courtesy, and social awareness.
• Home – Developing responsibility through home duties and safety.
• Community – Promoting civic awareness and a sense of belonging.
• Outdoor – Cultivating appreciation for nature and environmental care.
• International – Encouraging global understanding and cross-cultural friendships.
Students earn badges and awards such as the Golden Bar, Chief Commissioner’s Award, Olave St Clair Award, and Puan Noor Aishah Award, which recognise personal growth, leadership, and service.
What Students Will Experience
Weekly Pack Meetings – Activities include games, badge work, teamwork, and leadership development.
Inter-Pack Events – Events such as World Thinking Day and Division Days provide collaboration opportunities.
Community Service Projects – Involvement in clean-up efforts and public awareness campaigns.
Workshops – Sessions on life skills such as financial literacy, cyber wellness, and personal safety.
